This philanthropic initiative was established by a group of dedicated U.K.-based filmmakers and film journalists including Hanna Flint, Julia Jackman, Leila Latif, Sophie Monks Kaufman, and Helen Simmons. Since its launch on March 28, the Cinema for Gaza auction has garnered significant momentum, with over 200 outstanding lots contributed by esteemed figures such as Spike Lee, Paul Mescal, Olivia Colman, Tessa Thompson, Josh O’Conner, and Tilda Swinton, among many others.

In a recent statement, the organizers expressed their gratitude, saying, “As the inaugural Cinema for Gaza fundraiser approaches its final hours, we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity. With over $200,000 raised and still climbing, we are deeply moved by the support from both donors and bidders across the film industry.”

Hannah Farr, Hanna Flint, Julia Jackman, Leila Latif, Sophie Monks Kaufman, and Helen Simmons are proud to have facilitated this remarkable collaboration within the industry to provide crucial aid through Medical Aid For Palestinians (MAP), the sole NGO operating in northern Gaza.

The auction will conclude on April 12, with all proceeds directed to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) to support their critical response efforts in Gaza, where the local health authority reports significant casualties during recent hostilities. MAP’s urgent interventions are addressing the pressing medical needs of affected communities in the region.
