Wildly absurd shark movies are resurfacing in popular culture, bringing a wave of excitement. Following last month’s gripping trailer for “No Way Up,” featuring plane passengers besieged underwater by a circling shark, this month brings more toothy thrills with Hayley Easton Street’s “Something in the Water.”
In the teaser above, five friends embark on a perilous adventure, foolishly venturing to a tropical island with no phone signal. When one of them falls victim to a shark bite while paddling, they must race back to shore, only to encounter disaster as their boat collides with a coral reef. What ensues is a heart-pounding race to safety, reminiscent of the tension in “The Shallows.”
Starring Hiftu Quasem, Lauren Lyle, Nicole Rieko Setsuko, Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart, and Natalie Mitson, “Something in the Water” promises a gripping cinematic experience.
Stay tuned as “Something in the Water” surfaces in theatres soon, promising an adrenaline-packed journey into the depths of shark-infested waters.
